Even being a constant menace, his periods of low form are too evident, maybe because he's usually at such a high level.

A CURIOUS FACT
Jorge Valdano gave him his first opportunity when Raúl was only 17. On the way by road to Zaragoza, where he would play his first match, the coach thought the young player would need some comfort, and would be too nervous to rest along the journey. Valdano found Raúl deeply -and noisily- slept.

HIS HOTTEST MOMENT
Grown up in Atlético de Madrid lesser teams until this club supressed their youth system, Raúl's matches against his former club have always been special. Among some great moments there is a magnificent goal at the Vicente Calderón stadium in 97, that definetly launched him as a world class crack.
