A CURIOUS FACT
His transfer has been the strangest, hardest and most surrealistic on in many, many years. After a whole month of very complicated negotiations, the deal was reached only some minutes in time before the transfer market closed. Barcelona, apparently interested in a three sided operation that would allow them to sign up Morientes, finally showed all they wanted was to blow the whole transfer apart by retiring themselves at last hour. Florentino Pérez, without the chance of including Morientes in the deal, had to spent some extra cash to finally tie the brazilian up to Real.
